Find
the Deals at Bloomin’deals

It goes without saying that most people like to shop. It also goes
without saying that the reason most people like to shop is because they
manage to find bargains.
A fair product at a fair price is a fair exchange. However, the fun is
in getting a fair product at a great price. Or an extremely low price.
This is where shopping becomes real fun. One need simply to look at the
success of eBay and such companies to witness the phenomenon.
However, it is really, really fun when we manage to find a
‘bargain’ or a ‘steal of a deal’. These are the
kinds of exchanges that we will talk about for days or perhaps weeks
afterward.
Bloomin'deals Consignment, located in Calabash, is a place where you
might find such a ‘bargain’. Or, stated more precisely, you
might find a store packed to the walls with such ‘deals’.
Bloomin'deals is not your typical, everyday run-of-the-mill consignment
store. No indeed. This place has class written all over it.
“I was a single person with three children,” Gail Roberson,
the owner of Bloomin’deals told me, “and so I had to be
thrifty. I was working at a real estate company and would spend my
lunch hour shopping at a thrift store near the office. Eventually I was
asked if I would like to help out, so I started working there part time
on the weekends. Eventually I made the decision to just go ahead and
strike out on my own. I knew of a place called ‘Saks Thrift
Avenue’ and I really liked the concept”
Since 1997, Gail has brought an unusual flair to the world of
consignment shopping. She has an eye for style and a great sense of
taste. Though her store can be called a thrift store, it is in a
category all its own. The prices are, of course, quite low. However the
quality of products offered here is well above the norm.
“I simply want to provide nice things for the everyday woman or
man,” she stated, “for anyone who likes nice things at
bargain prices.” It would appear as though she has certainly
accomplished precisely that, judging from the traffic through her door.
I stopped by on three separate occasions in the writing of this story;
each time the place was absolutely packed with shoppers.
Small wonder. What helps to set Bloomin’deals apart from the
typical thrift store is the presentation of the products offered for
sale. This place rivals even the most upscale of stores, featuring
large wooden beams in the ceiling, a multi-level floor arrangement and
even a fireplace. However, it is quality that reigns here above all
other things.
If finding a bargain is your passion, Bloomin’deals in Calabash
is THE place to do it.
